Ticket #261 (closed task: fixed)
Add 'video language' to video meta-data

Description
Having data on what the primary language of a video is would be useful. In fact, a more flexible video meta-data system in general would be nice, allowing the site admin to add, remove and modify fields more easily.

- Milestone changed from 3.0-beta2 to 3.1
Moving to 3.1, trying to slim down 3.0 as much as possible.

- Milestone changed from 3.1 to 4.1
Pushing down for this release but anyone else should feel free to grab it.

- Milestone changed from 4.4 Beta (Language Related New Features and Fixes) to 4.3 Beta1
I'm thinking this should be added as part of adding universal subtitles - it will allow us to know what language the video is in, which isn't always the same as the country.

Have tested on testing.plumi.org. Can add a video language successfully, and displays on the video view page. If we want this to display in listings or elsewhere (perhaps in the re-design) I suppose we can add another ticket for that.

on request from andrew/EngageMedia, a bit of expanded functionality for this would be really great if its not too difficult to do at this stage?
- can we have this video language actually be a drop-down list (based on a default Plone language list?) with English as the default
- can we please have this appear in the video/view page as a lookup/link - which would take you to a page listing all videos with that language (I suppose this would be a Search Results page? as it is not a taxonomy item as per Country or Category)
- also can this appear in video listings, next to "Country" on the same line
e.g. "Country Angola Video Language English"

Done. I've added the ISO language list. Let me know if you prefer something smaller.

Hey, just got an error while testing this.. actually just as soon as I loaded a video view page: http://testing.plumi.org/Members/anna/videos/test-video/view
We’re sorry, but there seems to be an error… The error has been logged as entry number 1322573712.870.736127633103.

hmm, did that video had a video language field that you inserted in the past week? If that's the case, the error is normal. That video has the video language set as "English" but now we are using a fixed list and "English" is not part of it ("En" is the corresponding id).
If that's the case, can you test it on another video? No reason to manually try to fix this one, since that will not be an issue for any other existing website.

Can't test currently as testing site is down.

sorry about that, I had it running on fg to test some things and went down when I logged out. Should be up and running now.

Have tested this, probably needs to default to English rather than Abkhazian before we release it though. Is it possible to do something like we do with the taxonomy - have an "--English--" language at the top? I suppose Plumi site implementors could then choose which language they wanted to default to in this hackish way.
Alternatively a system could be devised for having a default language in a more elegant way... selectable in Site Setup perhaps...
Thoughts?

English is now the default (specified in the content type schema). We could add it to the control panel for the next release to be easily configurable.
