Description (last modified by anna) (diff)
https support - check about this problem - security certificate may scare people away...
Also Google Analytics - as it means sites implementing UniSubs? are tracked by Google.
Also fullscreen issue in Safari - menu sits above video.
Could there be a "turn off subtitles" button?

Seelan has been talking to UniSubs? about this. Conversation copied below.
Any kind of ETA on when you think https support could be enabled? I realise you have a long list. We try to run everything on Engage over https as we frequently deal with sensitive content, this and Amara's use of google analytics are the breaks in our security chain, so we'd love to be able assist with some remedies.
It's hard to say when we'll be able to support https, but the good news is that we're preparing for a move to the Mozilla popcorn infrastructure, which should make hacking and programming more modular and will also allow us to tap into the popcorn dev community.
Have you considered a system like http://piwik.org/ for handling analytics at all? I'm guessing you've built a lot into g/analytics already and aren't really thinking to swap but just wanted to raise it.
This is interesting – we'll take a look and see what migration would look like.

Just a note that Markos (Unweb) found a workaround for this by have U/subs widgets javascript files load directly from our server. --Andrew
Oh, awesome that you guys figured out a workaround. We'll keep that in mind, in case anyone else asks about it.

Is this something we should document in the manual, this work-around?
If so, please provide text and I'll add it to the manual.

There is a 'turn off subtitles' option now on 'Transcode Settings', on the Plone contol ( http://site/@@transcode-controlpanel)
Regarding the issue with universal subtitles, we have included the javascript files on collective.transcode.star and changed the urls from http to https. This might be included on the documentation, that in case of https sites with certificate problems, one has to check that all content fetched from external sources (as with universal subtitles, or google analytics) is https too!

Great! Will wait to test on new.plumi.org with a Manager role member.
